We have some great news this week ! We have added a 5th piece to the band. My own brother, Mike Knapp on keyboards and some guitar work and vocals and harmony. Mike is an excellent musician fluent on several instruments. He plays Keyboards , guitar , bass and drums with the ease of a true pro. He has done some stints on the road with several artists including The Singing Auctioneer himself , Leroy Van Dyke. We are VERY happy to welcome Mike to our group and hope you will too ! Welcome Mike , we count ourselves LUCKY to have you with us !

You can now go to BuckaTune.net and download some of our original songs. You can mix and match music to make your own personal CD of your favorite tunes! This site is owned by our good friends Starla and Jimmy Queen. As you may remember ,their drummer Rompin Ronnie Played with us some in the past. So stop into their site and check some great music out ! ( It won't hurt if you buy a couple tracks either ! Maybe a little New Spur music !)

We would like to welcome Dewayne ( Dewey) Nichols on board as our new bass player !  No stranger to the band , Dewey has played for us in several different bands and knows our material well !  We played last week at Brighton and him and drummer JR played together like they had played all their lives together ! It was a pleasure and we really sounded like a solid band again ! We are looking forward to our future gigs as it will only get better now !  Welcome Dewey and glad to have you with us brother !

We now have our very own musicians website for them to post their songs , pictures and even videos ! There are listings for gig dates and places and a place to post your blogs. Lots of good information for bands and musicians. We didn't agree with their policies at the other site so we just bailed and made our own site. Unlike them , we will not post any vulgar material or anti-christian content. This site will be safe for family veiwing ! For those of you who don't know, My brother Mike Knapp is a fantastic musician. He plays drums ,guitar and keyboards and plays them all VERY well ! He has been offered positions before with famed Gospel greats  Amy Grant and also Sandy Patty. He also played on the road with Leroy Van Dyke for a while. He currently lives in Emporia Kansas and is the Pastor and music director in a large church there. He is moving to Missouri in May to start another church around Lake of the Ozarks. Hopefully he will have some time to play with our band some too. Anyway , he will be a guest musician at Clinton , Mo. next week at the Eagles lodge with our band ! If you can be sure to catch this show. This will be a great time with some extra special music ! We look forward to having Mike with us !

 We have a new drummer and he is a great one ! JR Davis has just joined us as our drummer and we are very happy with this union ! A  VERY good drummer and a great guy as well.  He fits right in with his sharp sense of humor too !  Kinda like the rest of us .( Uh Oh ! Warning , Warning !) Anyway , welcome JR and glad to have you aboard !  The New Spur Band is now~ Bill , Earl ,JR Dewey and Mike.

This is a great music store folks ! It is run and owned by our good friend Fred Metzer . Fred is a great musician as well as just a great guy in general ! I had my main amp blow up this week and Fred hooked me up with a amp for my gig at The Double E Friday night and saved the show ! Many thanks Fred ! As some of you know , Country music is very big over seas right now. It's very easy to get a hit record with a good American country song . If you can get your song in the hands of a D.J. and get it played and it's good , with a little luck you may have a hit on your hands. Our long time friends and number one fans  Mae & Larry Abel have done us a tremendous favor by sending a copy of some of our original songs to a friend overseas. With some luck we hope it might find it's way into the right hands. We are just keeping our fingers crossed and hoping it might be well liked over there.
